Reading is one of the most fundamentally important things you can do with your child at home. There are numerous studies linking a child's progress to the amount they are read to and heard read. As a parent, it can be tricky to know whether what you are doing is right, so below is some information from the DfE and a number of blog posts intended to support and reassure.
Our chosen phonics scheme is Little Wandle which we implemented from May 2022. Prior to this, we used Letters and Sounds.
As part of our support for parents, look out for regular workshops where we demonstrate how phonics is taught in school and talk you through the programme that we have chosen. We will email you about these.
